CHITRAL: The former provincial minister and president of PPP Chitral chapter, Saleem Khan has criticized the PTI government for the delay in issuing the notification of Upper Chitral district which was announced by Imran Khan as party head while addressing a public gathering in Pologround Chitral on 8th November 2017.
Addressing a press conference flanked by the local leaders of the party including Almazeb advocate, Amirullah Khan, Shamsur Rahman Lal and others here on Thursday, he said that the creation of Upper Chitral district was longstanding demand of the people for quick uplift of the area and solution of their problems and it was PTI government which hoodwinked the people by a sham announcement of the new district in this day of last year.
“Imran Khan, Pervaiz Khattak (the then chief minister), Mehmud Khan (incumbent chief minister) should tender apology to the people of Chitral for telling them a lie in the public”, he said adding that following the announcement the people of Upper Chitral made wide jubilation of the new district for months but at the end it proved an eye-wash.
Mr. Khan also lambasted the PTI government for expulsion of five numbers of road projects as well gas plants installation for providing gas to the households from the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) of the federal government in Chitral which had been included by the PML-N government on the persistent demand of the people of Chitral.
He said that the PTI leadership is bent upon keeping the area of Chitral backward by denying new development projects and all this was enough to show the wide gap between their words and deeds because they always boasted of uniform level development of all areas.
He also expressed his grave concern over the reported re-alignment of the alternate route of CPEC which was planned to pass through Chitral and said that it was yet another act of injustice perpetrated by the PTI government towards the people of Chitral.
He warned that the PPP workers will not tolerate the injustices meted out to the people of Chitral and they will take to the streets and roads against the government.
