ISLAMABAD: As per previous practice, the Flood Communication Cell established in the Office of the Chief Engineering Adviser/ Chairman, Federal Flood Commission, would start functioning on round the clock basis with effect from June 15, 2018. Mr. Zafar Iqbal, Senior Engineer (Floods-I) would be the focal person in connection with flood duties/ reporting during monsoon season-2018. The Flood Communication Cell will obtain weather & flood forecast, besides, reservoir levels and river flows data from Flood Forecasting Division (FFD), Lahore/Pakistan Meteorological Department, Islamabad, WAPDA, PCIW and other Flood Warning Centres set up in the Provincial Headquarters. Information with regard to rainfall and projected river flows at important stations would also be obtained from Flood Forecasting Division, Lahore. The data obtained/received in this office would be compiled and shared with all concerned organizations dealing with Flood Management at Federal as well as Provincial Government level. The duty officials would be available on Telephone No. 051-9244621 & 05 19244616 24-hours including Saturday/ Sundays and other national/ closed holidays during the entire monsoon season 2018 (15th June to 15th October 2018). Information desired by any Ministry/Division/Department with respect to major reservoirs position and major/secondary rivers flow data can be obtained through the above mentioned Telephone numbers.
