CHITRAL: In order to check the admission of COVID-19 infected passengers into the limits of Chitral from Afghanistan and other areas of the country, five different points have been fixed to carry out screening test of the suspect on their entry to this region.
Deputy commissioner Lower Chitral, Naveed Ahmed told Chitral Times that the passengers entering the district through Lowari Pass will be screened at basic health unit (BHU) Ashrait, that of Arandu border at BHU Arandu, of Arsoon border at THQ hospital Drosh and the passengers coming by air at DHQ hospital Chitral.
He said that the screening of those passengers will be carried out who showed one of the symptoms of COVID-19 which included high temperature with fever, cough and flu.
He said that the health department will immediately depute staff to the areas along with necessary kits for establishment of check points with regards to screening of individuals entering the district.
Mr. Ahmed said that the people should avoid unnecessary gatherings and travel to other districts without any cogent reason.
The deputy commissioner of Upper Chitral Shah Saud said that the passengers entering the district through Shandur Pass will also be subjected to screening in the nearest public healthcare facility situated at Mastuj.
