PESHAWAR: NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa arrested accused Muhammad Ramzan Sheikh CEO Ms Ideal Hydrotech and Asghar Khan involved in embezzlement of funds in Clean Drinking Water for All Project causing loss of Millions of rupees to National Exchequer.
As per details, the accused Muhammad Ramzan CEO Ideal Hydrotech in connivance with other co-accused persons gave fake bank gurantees and illegally secured mobilization advance for execution of project. Accused Asghar Khan, an Employee of a private Bank verified the fake guarantees produced by the contractors. The “Clean Drinking Water for All” project was started by the Ministry of Industries and Commerce across the country to install filtration plants in different vicinities across the country. The contractors in connivance with others did not execute the project resulting in not only huge loss to national exchequer but also caused failure in provision clean water to general public.
Investigation of the case is underway; more facts are about to surface. The accused persons were produced before the Accountability Court Peshawar and obtained physical custody of the accused for 11 days.
