CHITRAL: The elites of the Kalash valleys Bumburate, Birir and Rumbur have demanded of PTI chief and Prime minister Imran Khan to induct MPA Wazir Zada in the provincial cabinet of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which will help a great deal in the reduction of poverty of the people of the backward area.
The elites from Muslim community Abdul Jabbar, Ejaz Azim and Rehmat Elahi while that of Kalash community including Ghafoor, Bakhtawar, Burhan and others in a meeting held in Bumburate valley held here at Bumburate said that PTI had made a great favour to the people of this backward area by nominating a young man from the valley for the minority seat of provincial assembly.
They said that Chitral and especially the Kalash valleys were far behind in the arena of development while the flash floods of 2015 has washed away its physical infrastructures including roads, power houses, school buildings, community halls apart from the privately owned landed properties of the people.
The elites said that the natural beauty of the valleys are to be restored in the valleys by taking concrete steps to make it resilient for flash floods in future side by side restoring the infrastructures destroyed by floods.
“A large chunk of Kalash community lived below poverty line after losing their belongings to the flood three years ago and a comprehensive package on their uplift has become inevitable and the need of the hour.
In this situation, a cabinet member of the provincial government from the valley can play a significant role in highlighting the miseries of the residents of the valleys, both Kalash and Muslims”, they said.
They said that Wazir Zada had proved his mettle while working for the development of the valleys as an office-bearer of Ayun and Kalash valleys development program (AVDP) while due to his conduct and personal acumen, he was equally acceptable to both the communities.
They reiterated that the induction of Wazir Zada in the cabinet will be reckoned as special favour from the PTI chief to the people of Chitral.
