    PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mehmood Khan has said that development and uplift of the backward areas of the province is one of the top priorities of the present government for which a workable development strategy has been formulated keeping in view the needs and issues of different areas. He said that under the Annual Development Program, work is underway on several development projects worth billions of rupees in Lower Dir district for which more than Rs. 1.00 billion has been allocated in the ADP of current financial year and added that these projects will be a milestone in the development and prosperity of the district. He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of Lower Dir District led who called on him hare the other day and discussed with him matters related to developmental projects and public welfare intitiatives in the district. The delegation also apprised the Chief Minister of the problems faced by the general masses of Lower Dir. MPA from Lower Dir Humayun Khan and Deputy Commissioner Lower Dir were also present on the occassion. Talking to the delegation, the Chief Minister said that his government believed in uniform development of all the backward districts of the province to bring them at par with other developed district adding that despite the difficult financial situation due to Corona pandemic, the provincial government didnt compromise developmental activities projects. Touching upon the ongoing and new development projects for Lower Dir, the Chief Minister said that work is underway on about 50 development projects worth Rs. 11 billion in various sectors in the district and priority has been given to education, health, communication and drinking water sectors and a total of 38 development schemes have been started in these four priority sectors. Mahmood Khan maintained that under the feserla PSDP, progress is being made on various projects in Lower Dir district, including improvement and expansion of 130 km long N-45 road and establishment of 220 KV Chakdara substation for which a total of Rs. 850 million has been allocated in the current PSDP.
