CHITRAL: A number of functions were held here to celebrate the Defense of Pakistan Day here on Thursday in which rich tributes were paid to those laid down their lives for the homeland while the heirs of the martyrs were aggrandized by presenting them special gifts.
The grand program in this connection was held by Chitral Scouts in Scouts Ground in which smarts contingents of Chitral Scouts, Chitral Police and Scouts Public School had a march past followed by speeches and tableaus of students to signify the day.
Paragliding and polo match were also interesting events of the program while stalls of Pak Army, Chitral Scouts and Chitral Police had also been arranged to exhibit different defense installations, weapons and wireless communication gadgets.
Commandant of Chitral Task Force, colonel Moeenuddin was chief guest on the occasion while district nazim Chitral Maghfirat Shah, Chitral DC Khurshid Alam Mahsood and MPA Maulana Hedayatur Rahman were also in attendance.
