DC Lower Chitral chairs a meeting to review for Eid arrangements
CHITRAL: Deputy commissioner Lower Chitral Muhammad Imran Khan has asked the district heads of various departments to remain in the station during the holidays of Eidul Fitre so that prompt services could be given to the public on this occasion.
Heading the meeting of the district officers of various line departments, he said that the provincial government has directed to provide all possible facilities to the public and avert all kinds of hurdles so that they could be able to celebrate the Eid with the peace of mind.
He said that illegal profiteering should be discouraged with an iron hand and the transporters charge exorbitant fares should not be tolerated at any cost and a strict vigilance be kept to check this menace.
Meanwhile, the deputy commissioners of Upper and Lower Chitral district have imposed ban on a number of activities for a period of days which can create unrest in the area and result in breach of peace under section 144 of criminal procedure Act.
In their respective notifications, bearing identical content issued here on Sunday, on the directive of Home and Tribal Affairs Department, they have imposed ban on the entry of illegal Afghan refugees in the city, exhibition of arms, fire works and aerial firing.
