CHITRAL: The MNA from Chitral, Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali has said that the constitutional amendment bill tabled by him in the house regarding restoration of a seat of provincial assembly for Chitral has been referred to the concerned standing committee.
Talking to the local media persons by telephone here on Tuesday, he said that the minister of state for parliamentary affairs Ali Muhammad Khan did not oppose it, so it was sent to the standing committee for further action.
He said that in the motion of the bill, he had contended that Chitral had two constituencies of provincial assembly till the General Election 2018 when it was curtailed to one and that now the district has been bifurcated and it will not be possible for one MPA to cover two districts.
Maulana Chitrali said that the referring of the motion to the standing committee without any opposition from the treasury benches was an achievement for him and it will finally pave the way for the creation of a seat of provincial assembly for Chitral.
