Chitral : After warmly receiving HH at Chitral Airport today i.e. 9th Dec 2017, Shahzada Iftikhar Uddin requested a much more vigorous role of the AKDN network amid the new challenges faced by the people of Chitral.
MNA Shahzada Iftikhar Uddin appraised HH on the Development Initiatives Planned by the Federal Government that will play a catalytic role in bringing major changes in Chitral’s development scene.
In the meeting with HH Prince Karim Aga Khan, the MNA thanked HH Prince Karim Aga Khan for his services to humanity and sought a much more robust role by the AKDN in advancing the cause of Chitral’s development in particular and that of GB and Pakistan in general.
Prince Karim Aga Khan asked Shahzada Iftikhar Uddin to specify the areas where he thought greater AKDN Role was needed. MNA outlined the following four areas where AKDN help will make a huge difference namely:
1. Tourism Promotion
2. Development of Chitral’s Mining Sector
3. Tapping Chitral’s Huge Hydro Power Potential
4. Introduction of Financial Instruments to Help meet Investment Needs of Young Entrepreneurs.
Prince Karim Aga Khan promised to increase AKDN focus on these four areas besides asking his younger brother Prince Amin to help promote Chitral’s Tourism and Hospitality Industries that in the future promises to provide thousands of jobs to local youth if properly tapped.
Commissioner and RPO Malakand Division , District Nazim Chitral Maghfirat Shah and Commandant Chitral Task Force were also present on the occasion.
