Broghil festival commence from 23rd August in Bordering area of Wakhan corridor

CHITRAL: The three-day Baroghil festival will commence from 23^rd  August in Baroghil bordering the Wakhan corridor of Afghanistan under the auspices of village council Baroghil and local support organization.

Village nazim Amin Jan Tajik said told the mediapersons in Chitral Press Club that the festival will showcase  the different aspects of the  ancient and unique Wakhi culture while yak race and yak polo are the chief events of the festival.

The other events of the festival are buzz kashi, polo, donkey polo and many local games, he said.

Baroghil is the home of Chiantar glacier surrounded by many other glaciers which feed the Chitral River while the Qarambar lake is said to be biologically active lake supporting  a wide range of diversity.
