ISLAMABAD: BISP signed MoU with Dar Ul Sukun Welfare Society (DSWS), a registered non-profit organization to jointly work for disability rehabilitation, intellectual disabilities, older socially displaced children, education and skill development sector. The MoU was signed by DG Complimentary Initiative Sajid Baloch and Morris Khurshid General Manager, DSWS, witnessed by Secretary BISP Omar Hamid Khan accompanied by other senior officials from the organization. The MoU says, DSWS will collaborate with BISP for the rehabilitation of BISP beneficiaries Children’s especially girls/women with Intellectual disabilities at Dar Ul Sukun Rehabilitation Centre- Rashidabad and Tando Allah Yar. While explaining, GM DSWS says, the state-of-the-art centre has all the modern infrastructure to look after third and fourth degree serious cases. Initially, they will rehabilitate 100 intellectually disabled BISP beneficiaries in 5 districts of Sind namely, Karachi, Hyderabad, Tando Allah Yar, Sujjawal and Mirpurkhas. Dar Ul Sukun Welfare Society will impart rehabilitation services including Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Psychotherapy and speech therapy to children of BISP beneficiaries to promote independent life among the children with boarding & well maintained day care facility. Secretary, BISP Omar Hamid Khan assures highest degree of support and facilitation to the organization. He not only appreciated the effort, but also encourages the spirit and commitment of the DSWS management in helping the unheard voices of this country. He further said, that we will share our national database, logistics support, technical assistance and any other help for this endeavor.
