    Birth anniversary of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) celebrated in Booni

    BOONI : The birth anniversary of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was held on Friday with religious zeal and fervor in Government High School for boys Booni, Chitral. The event was organized by Ismaili council for upper Chitral in collaboration with DJ celebration task force for Jammati programs and activities.

    The chairman Ismaili Tariqa and Religious Education board (ITREB) upper Chitral, Syed Ahmed Ali Shah welcomed, and shared the objectives of the event.

     

    Syed Sardar Hussain shah, MPA upper Chitral presided over the ceremony, while Assistant Commissioner Mastuj, Mr. Faiz Qureshi was the chief guest.

     


    In his presidential speech, Mr. Sardar Hussain Shah, MPA upper Chitral spread light on the life of Muhammad (PBUH) and said that he is the prophet of the entire mankind and universe. He came at a time when the human race was at the verge of decay; he illuminated and reinvigorated the sense of humanity in the mankind, he added.

     

    Ali Akbar Qazi, scholar Ismaili Tariqa and Religious Education Board (ITREB) Chitral while narrating the life story of Muhammad (PBUH) expressed his view that his life and teachings are beacon of light, and added that he was sent to the world as Rehmat Ul Lil Alamin. Commenting on the significance of Holy Prophet, he quoted a verse from the holy Quran which says “Allah and his angels shower blessings on Muhammad (PBUH). O ye who believe! Asks blessings on him and salute him with a worthy salutation”.

     

    While expressing his opinion on the Sirat of Holy Prophet, a renowned scholar and principal of Government High School Garum Chashma, Qazi Ghulam Rabbani said that the revered birth of Holy Prophet is the biggest blessing and event in history, since it totally transformed the contours of human society. He added that, the Prophet (PBUH) said, ‘he was sent to ‘perfect the morals’. However he lamented that, despite claiming to love the holy Prophet, Muslims todayare not following his teachings in true sense.

     


    Assistant commissioner, tehsil Mastuj, M.r Faiz Qureshi said, Muhammad (PBUH) taught the golden principles of: peace, harmony, brotherhood, respect for humanity, forgiveness, justice and fair play. He quoted a verse from the Holy Quran which says “An illuminating lamp” used to describe Holy Prophet; and he went further to explain it and said, just as lamp dispels darkness, through his prophet, Allah seeks to illuminate the souls of mankind. He was of the view that, by following the universal teachings of Prophet (PBUH), we would be able to bring positive change and prosperity in the society.
    Sardar Hakim, a youth activist and member tehsil council for Charun UC, was of the view that participation of youth in such events may help them groom. He urged the need to encourage the participation of youth in large number in such future events.

     


    People from different walk of life graced the occasion in large number to pay homage to the Holy Prophet on his Birth anniversary. The attendants applauded the arrangements and expressed their desire to follow suit in future. It is pertinent to note here that this event was unique. It testified the very fact that, inter sect harmony that was purported to exist, actually prevailed in true spirit between the communities in Chitral, since the said program encompassed the members and speakers of both communities.

     

    Students from Government high school Booni and other adjacent areas performed Naat and Hamd. It added mystical ambiance to the already blessed occasion.The event was concluded with thank you note given by Mr. Amin Mukhtar, focal person of task force for Jamati activities of Diamond jubilee celebration; who thanked the guests, school administration and participants.
