CHITRAL: All the ten persons involved in illegal cutting of forest trees in Arandu, a village situated on Pak-Afghan border, have been arrested.
Chitral DC Irshad Sodhar told Chitral Times that the persons had fallen illegally forty trees of deodar the other day whose video had gone viral in the area on which he ordered to nab the culprits and ten persons were found involved in the case who were arrested.
He said that those arrested included Shamsuddin, Sher Ali, Syed Gulab, Said Ali, Khan Bahadur, Abdullah Jan, Sakhi, Hazratuddin, Abdul Wali and Abdul Qayum all of whom were the residents of Arandu.
The arrested persons included were booked under sections 33, 59,75,77, 78 and 85 of Forest Act 2002 and will be presented before the local court on Sunday to seek their remand.
