Final Crackdown begins against illegal Afghan nationals in KP

PESHAWAR (APP): The police have formally launched the final phase of a crackdown against Afghan nationals residing illegally in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Official sources told APP that in line with government directives, police and security agencies have accelerated the arrest and deportation of Afghan nationals who do not possess valid legal documents.

Operations are underway across several districts of the province, including Peshawar.

Special teams have been deployed in areas such as Sardar Ahmad Jan colony, Sardar Colony, Afghan colony, Wazir colony, Qazi kallay, Lashkar kallay, Nasir Bagh, Board bazaar, Chamkani, and Ring Road.

Families found to be living in the country illegally are being temporarily shifted to the Nasir Bagh Transit Centre.

After verification of their identity and documentation, they are being repatriated to Afghanistan through the Torkham border crossing.

The government has made it clear that strict legal action, including the registration of criminal cases, will also be taken against local landlords who rent houses or commercial properties to undocumented Afghan nationals.
