KP Govt approved release of Rs 25.5bn for welfare sectors
PESHAWAR (APP): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government has approved Rs25.5 billion for public welfare sectors in fourth quarter of Annual Development Program 2025-26.
The Planning and Development Department KP approved release of Rs25.529 billion in development funds for ongoing projects under the Annual Development Program (ADP) 2025–26 for the fourth quarter.
According to a statement issued by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Planning and Development Department, priority in the allocation of these funds has been given to sectors directly linked with public welfare and service delivery.
Significant allocations have been made for the sectors of health, education, drinking water and sanitation, roads, irrigation and water management, agriculture, and local government to ensure the uninterrupted completion of essential services and development projects.
Under the health sector, Rs1.40 billion has been released for hospitals, basic health units, and ongoing health programs.
For the drinking water and sanitation sector, Rs1.13 billion allocated to expand water supply and sanitation projects in urban and rural areas.
In the education sector, Rs696.3 million released for primary and secondary education, while Rs1.1056 billion for higher education to improve infrastructure and educational facilities in schools, colleges, and universities.
To improve connectivity and accessibility, Rs3.7426 billion allocated for the roads sector, making it the largest allocation in this installment.
The water sector received Rs3.7344 billion for irrigation, flood protection, and water management projects.
Additionally, Rs589.1 million allocated for agriculture, while Rs1.7765 billion has been earmarked for local government projects to further strengthen the rural economy and municipal services.
The purpose of releasing these funds is to accelerate the completion of development projects and improve public service delivery before the end of the fiscal year.
All departments have been directed to expedite development work and ensure financial discipline.
