    A Session on ‘Characteristics of 21st Century Student’ held at AKHSS

    KURAGH: A program was organized  by AKHSS Kuragh with the  theme ‘Characteristics of 21st Century Student’. The Guest Speaker of the program was Dr. Mir Afzal Tajik. The Principal, faculty members and students from AKHSS Seenlasht  were also attended. Haseen Alam Raza, student of Grade 12, staged the program.

    The session began with recitation of Holy verses of Quran by Saif-ul- Islam, student Of Aga Khan Higher Secondary School Seenlasht. Anum Ainie Subhani and group recited Naat Sharif, which was followed by Milli Naghma by Arjumand and group.

    Thereafter the honorable Guest Speaker was introduced to the audience and was called upon the stage to speak on the topic. He delivered a thought-provoking speech on the theme of characteristics of 21st century students. In his address he mentioned the qualities such as regularity in classroom activities, participation in project works with enthusiasm, showing respect to teachers and elders, striving to enhance their knowledge, skills and sharing them with other students, engaging in humanitarian assistance activities at local, regional or national level and accept both successes and failures with dignity. We should not be disappointed in times of distress, nor should we be proud.

    He further said that in abroad the students should represent their praiseworthy and unique culture. Students should fulfill their civic responsibilities and stay connected with their roots.

    In his speech he also said that in modern world, students are availing of all disciplines. In the past education system was confined to only arts and science, while now our education system has extended itself to unlimited number of disciplines.

    Education is not only learning and acquiring of knowledge but also applying the knowledge, skills and experiences in their daily life. In this way students will help the society flourish and develop.

    Students should have creativity, deep imagination, strong will power, in order to achieve their goals.

    Next, a skit was presented by Grade 12 students to entertain the audience. The message was positive and negative role of media in change in attitude of students.

    Mr. Khush Muhammad, General Manager Aga Khan Education Service, Chitral, addressing the audience, expressed his gratitude to the Guest speaker on behalf of Aga Khan Education Service Chitral.

    The principal Ms. Sultana Burhanuddin was invitied to share her views with the participants. In her speech she advised students to adopt moral and ethical values and apply them on their lives.

    She presented the comparative study of the improving quality of education at Aga Khan Higher Secondary School Kuragh in its nascent years and in the succeeding years.

    The guest speaker was presented bouquet and memento as a token of appreciation.
