    KP Assembly constitutes Spl Committee to investigate Radio Pakistan attack case

    PESHAWAR (APP): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has constituted a special committee to investigate Radio Pakistan Peshawar’s attack case occured on May 10, 2023. 

    This decision was made following the approval of a motion presented during the provincial assembly session on December 15, 2025, under which the special committee was formed in accordance with Rule 237 of the Assembly’s Rules of Procedure.

    Provincial Minister for Law, Aftab Alam, will serve as the chairman of the special committee. The members of the committee include MPAs Tariq Saeed, Malik Adeel Iqbal, Muhammad Israr, Asif Khan, Abdul Ghani, Fazal Ilahi, Samiullah, Tariq Mahmood, Ahmed Karim Kundi, Adnan Khan, Arbab Muhammad Waseem, Muhammad Nisar, Sajjadullah, and Muhammad Rashad Khan.

    According to the notification, the special committee will conduct a thorough investigation into the incident that took place at Radio Pakistan Peshawar on May 9 and 10, 2023. The committee will review the causes, reasons, and circumstances of the incident. In addition, it will carry out a detailed review of other related matters, including the role of law enforcement agencies and any alleged excesses.

    After collecting evidence and completing the investigation, the special committee will present its report to the provincial assembly. The report will also include recommendations regarding future guidelines and policymaking, so that it can be presented before the provincial cabinet.

    This notification has been issued by the Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Babar Saleem Swati.
