DEW IN THE DESERT – BY: Muneebur Rehman

DEW IN THE DESERT – BY: Muneebur Rehman

I remember a qoute from a book by Robin Sharma, which was the second book I was reading at the start of my reading journey, “The 5am Club” that “Everyone can be a critic, take guts to be an encourager”. The reason I remembered this qoute is that I have been a critic of this society, system and moral and ethical standards set by the Society. To be more specific a small incident made all the above mentioned scenario.

While coming back to home after maghrib prayer I was accompanied by a boy, probably of the same age as me or bit older, for a few footsteps of road. Within a few footsteps of road he impressed me so much that, not just with his words but with his listening capability, that I was astonished and could not stop myself from writing a few lines.

We stand and talked for almost thirty minutes on different topics, where the road was trying to separate us. During that thirty minutes our past, present and future was disclosed and throughout those thirty minutes he motivated and encouraged me to chase my dreams in my own way. He was soft spoken, kind and more importantly knew what I was trying to deliver.

The reason to narrate this story is that there are people, who are not our close freinds nor relatives neither close neighbors, completely strangers according to the society, but they understand humanity, work for humanity, care for humanity and above all love humanity. We should know them, try to be like them and appreciate them so that we can change the society in positive way not just by criticism but appreciating those with good virtues also.
