The Province has remained a victim of negligence and exploitation. Although, it is the most resource rich region and is considered an important geostrategic spot, especially for the CPEC__ which is considered to be a game changer for Pakistan’s economic and social prosperity. The exacerbate in gross violation of human rights, the miserable health and education sectors, the rampant growth in poverty and unemployment have further deteriorated the situation.
As Baluchistan is considered an important geostrategic spot for CPEC__Chine’s BRI project, and a gateway to Europe. Because of this, different external players through their proxy wars create disturbance in the region. This will fulfil their interests to put the region in Chaos and hence they can create trouble for Pakistan and China. Among these players India and US are at the top of the list.
One of the most serious issue for Pakistan is the rising Insurgency in the region. Different insurgent groups which operate mainly in the province of Baluchistan have been backed up by these external forces. Now it is time for Pakistan to deal with the issue through diplomatic means. The government should provide employment for the people so they do not go for other illegal means to improve their standard of living.
Another important step which need to be dealt immediately is the education sector. The Province is at the top list having the lowest female literacy rate in the world. Now there is a dire need to popularize and standardize education in the region which should give fruitful results and will help the people to become a better citizens.
As the region has been neglected by the government despite its resource rich land and geostrategic importance. The government needs to pay attention to this matter too and require a comprehensive programme to uplift the province and its people out of poverty and provide equal opportunities to them. This ‘EQUALITY’ will create a sense of Nationalism among the masses.
The increase in gross human rights violation in the region, specially in the case of missing persons, which has got an international coverage, has badly degraded Pakistan’s image in international forums. The federal government and the Human Rights Minster should play their due roles in this regard and provide speedy justice to the victims families.
After the Taliban’s take over of Kabul the region has witnessed an upsurge in terrorist attacks. Many security personals and Chinese officials died in these attacks. Therefore, the government should enhance its intelligence based operations and counter terrorism strategies. If this issue left undealt it will turn into a nightmare for the country.
To prevent further instability in the region the government should address the above mentioned issues forthwith
