When I was a child I had watched a movie in which there was a person at the top of his voice crying as…”oh dear God! why didn’t I pass away before listening to such as this !
The connotation hides in this sentence is a mirror of the condition created by the poets of Khowar language in Chitral. A poet by directly expressing his emotions really expresses indirectly the spectrum of the society he lives in. Therefore, he is termed as representative of the society. Hence, the true core issue in a society can also be seen in the lines poet creates. In old days poets held high esteem for this purpose. While talking about the poets of khowar language in Chitral. Firstly, it become almost impossible for the reader and particularly for the listener of ghazals ( a sweeping craze of Chitrali poets is tuning ones lines into music after composition) to draw a clear definition of whether they are poets or not. Secondly, one can see a sheer injustice done to the poetic language by the poets themselves; treading all rules an regulations, attracting directly the personal background even taking down someone’s name etc in the lines of gazal is both ridiculous as well as heinous act. There is no clear message in khowar poets except tendency of abusing the beloved. When the number of the poets in Chitral is considered, it is dizzy matter. Every single Chitrali individual is a poet implicit or explicit. Why this is so is a question unanswered. For a moment thinking about the poets and Chitral, it is so much in numbers extremely introducing one poet and then metabolically the other that it seems as if grasshoppers have made an attack on Chitral fluttering and swaying everywhere. This is too much.
The result is people who listen to khowar song now feel nothing but shame.
