CHITRAL: The armed forces managed to rescue three British mountaineers who were earlier gone missing in Koe Mountain on Monday, official sources said.

They said that five British mountaineers identified as John James, Willaim Tayler, Alastin Jammer, Thomas Mickal and Uisdain Robertson came to surpass the Koe Mountain with a height of 18000 feet.

“While surpassing the mountain they were stranded when one of their colleagues, Alastin Jammer, fell into a glacier where he sustained injuries”, an official said.

He said that a chopper of the armed forces rescued two of them on Sunday while three of them had gone missing, adding, on Monday another helicopter of the armed forces arrived from Gilgit side and succeeded in rescuing the remaining three ones.

He said that all of them had been airlifted to the Pander Ghazer in Gilgit for treatment and would be flown to Islamabad where from they would fly back to UK.
