IGP awards police officers for showing good performance
PESHAWAR (APP): Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed, awarded cash prizes and commendation certificates to police officers and personnel from different districts.
The districts of Peshawar, Kohat, Hangu, Upper Dir, and Swat have been awarded commendation certificates and prizes at a ceremony held today at the Central Police Office Peshawar.
These awards were given in recognition of their outstanding performance in various operations against terrorists, target killers, and those involved in murder and attempted murder, as well as their excellent services during the recent floods.
Peshawar Police, during an intelligence-based operation, set a high standard of bravery and professional policing by bringing a wanted fugitive involved in multiple crimes to justice along with his accomplices in Wah Cantt, Kohistan Colony, Rawalpindi.
Similarly, Kohat Police, during various search and strike operations against terrorists and for maintaining law and order, demonstrated great courage by destroying multiple terrorist hideouts and arresting several facilitators.
Hangu Police promptly responded to intelligence of a nighttime terrorist attack on the FC post at Tora Warai. In the ensuing hours-long gunfight, they killed one terrorist and injured several others. Later, during a search operation, weapons, grenades, and explosives were recovered.
In another example, Swat Police safeguarded significant government assets by timely relocating official weapons and equipment from the basement of Mingora police station during the recent floods.
Meanwhile, Upper Dir Police, with the cooperation of the public, achieved excellent results in several joint search and strike operations against terrorists. In recognition, the IGP not only honored the police officers and personnel but also awarded commendation certificates to several citizens.
Addressing the ceremony, Inspector General Zulfiqar Hameed said that holding such events is commendable as they recognize the bravery and dedication of police officers and personnel.
He said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police are performing their duties with great courage, commitment, and professionalism, which is restoring public trust and bringing honor to both the department and their families.
The IGP especially praised the joint efforts of the people and police of Upper Dir in fighting terrorism and said that lasting peace in society can be ensured through such cooperation.
He emphasized that the process of reward and accountability will continue in the police department. The good performance of personnel not only enhances the reputation of the department but also brings honor to their families and society.
The IGP reiterated that it is encouraging to see that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police are continually improving and increasing the prestige of the force through their performance.
He urged the award recipients to further intensify their efforts and fulfill public expectations by eradicating terrorism from the province.
Congratulating the award-winning personnel, he expressed hope that they would continue to perform their duties with the same spirit and dedication in the future.
