CHITRAL: Waqas Ahmed advocate, a senior lawyer of Chitral, has demanded of the chief justice of Peshawar High Court to take suo motto action of the corruption which has made healthcare facilities scarce in Women and Children Hospital.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, the lawyer said that after admitting his minor son of 4 years in the hospital two days ago, he came to know the bungling and maladministration of the hospital which included the letting on rent the private rooms, ghost employees, denial of free medicines to the patients.
He said that one bed in the children ward is allocated to three to three patients which was big joke with the patients and there was always the risk of contracting the disease by one child from the other sharing the bed.
He said that the nurses of the hospital were very rude with the patients and their attendants and they did not wear uniform and always remained busy in gossiping in mobile telephones.
The lawyer said that on the second day of admission of his son, no doctor visited the ward to examine the patients and he got his son discharged in protest as there was no treatment being given to him and it was of no use to keep him there any more.
He was critical of the DC Chitral for giving no attention to the hospital which was situated at a stone’s throw distance from his office and residence.
