CHITRAL: Instead of wandering from post to pillar in search of white-collar job, three master’s degree holder young men opted for a pink-collar work and launched for the first time a home-delivery service in Chitral city to provide the customers at their doorsteps any article they wanted to buy from the bazaar.

The three persons included an electrical engineer Khalid Mahmood,  Shafiq Azam (M.Phil  in bio-tech) and Raeezada Noor Zaman (M.S. in  political science) who have started delivery of daily use items from the market in response of telephone calls of their customers and deliver it at their homes or offices instantly.

The home delivery service is said to have gained popularity in the city during the last one week after its launching as it has relieved them of traveling to the market for purchasing different items which included commodities of daily use.

One of the customers of the service, Sahib Jan of Balach village, told Chitral Times that one of the tablets  as prescribed by the doctor finished which he had to continue on Wednesday morning and there was no one to fetch it from bazaar while he was on bed-rest when someone told him about the service.

“I sent the copy of my dossier to the service office  through the WhatsApp and hardly twenty minutes had passed when the bell of my home started ringing and a smart riding bike-rider was standing there with the packet of medicine”, he said.

“I should have been spent more than Rs.600 for travelling to the bazaar by paying to a taxi by going myself while they charged only Rs. 100 for it and it was a pleasant experience for me”, he said with delight.

Meanwhile, Engineer Khalid when contacted on telephone, told this scribe that the service has gained popularity far more than their expectations and it was pleasurable for them.

He said that we wanted to give the youth of Chitral a message by launching the service that instead of a job in a public or private office, it was far better to have one’s own business and that the initiative of self-employment can do away unemployment which is assuming fearsome dimension with each passing day.
