CHITRAL; The doctors in DHQ hospital Chitral flatly refused to treat a woman brought to the hospital as one of them asked her husband to come next day while another misbehaved with him by throwing away his diagnostic tests.
Telling his tale of woe to the local media in Chitral Press Club, Ali Muhammad, an internally displaced person from Muzhgol village of upper Chitral, said that one Dr. Nisar Ahmed advised diagnostic tests of his wife in the casualty ward but he refused to prescribe medicines and asked him to come next day as he was taking rest.
He alleged that the doctor had no excuse for refusing to go through the diagnostic report which had been carried out as advised by him and he admonished him when pressed his demand.
“Disappointed of the behavior of Dr. Nisar, I approached another doctor on duty with the request to prescribe medicines but he threw away the report papers and asked me to turn to the doctor who had advised tests”, he said.
He said that he was a daily wage worker and did not afford the fee of private clinics and was going back him with his ailing wife when a person he was working with came to his help and got her treated in a clinic.
When the medical superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Rahman Afridi was contacted to know his version, he said that presently he was in Peshawar at the time and will look into the matter on his return to Chitral.
The deputy commissioner Irshad Sodhar was also in Peshawar and vowed to initiate inquiry to bring both the doctors to book in found guilty as they had indulged in misconduct breaching the professional ethics.
