CHITRAL: The four-day Kagh Lusht Festival will commence from April 11 in the plateau of Kagh Lusht situated in the confluence of the valleys of Mastuj, Mulkhow and Torkhow whose vast expanse gave an eye-catching view in the spring season.
The decision was taken by the Kagh Lusht Festival Organizing Committee headed by Prince Sultanul Mulk in Booni which later got the schedule ratified by assistant commissioner Mastuj.
The competitions of polo, foot ball, volley ball and a number of folk and traditional sports including folk dance, tug-of-war, weight-lifting and throwing, firing with obsolete and outdated weapons, mountain race will the the activities of the festival.
The committee observed that due importance will be given to the game of polo which needed special attention for its revival as in the absence of due patronage by the government, it was on its decline.
People from almost all parts of the district had thronged the 12-km long plateau of Kagh Lusht and a tent village is established in the vicinity of the venue of the festival while make-shift shops and restaurants are also opened here to facilitate them.
