CHITRAL: The residents of Balach Payeen of Chitral town took out protest procession over the continued outage of electricity in their area for the last forty days due to the break-down of transformer.
They demonstrated in front of Chitral Press Club and chanted slogans against Peshawar Electric Supply Company for its failure to replace the faulty transformer and reinstate the power supply.
They said that the 25 kV transformer had been installed some 36 years ago when the village consisted of only 28 households while the number has jumped to more than 400 but the transformer is the same and due to overloading it breaks down.
They later on, blocked the Garam Chashma Road for more than three hours and dispersed peacefully after negotiation with district administration.
