CHITRAL: As many as 196698 patients were admitted to the outpatient department of DHQ hospital Chitral during the year 2018 which included 56749 patients of emergency, and 7995 cases of surgery.
The medical superintendant of the hospital, Dr. Israrullah told Chitral Times that this was the highest number recorded in any DHQ hospital of the province which depicted the dependency of the local population on the secondary healthcare system of the district.
Giving the data of the year 2018, he said that 20770 persons were admitted as indoor patients which included 4201 cases of medicine, 3286 of surgery, 4827 of pediatrics, 5370 of gynecology, 1901 of ENT and 503 of orthopedics.
The number of surgeries, both major and minor, in the hospital during the year was 2568 while 6378 deliveries took place in the facility.
