CHITRAL; The heirs of three assassinated persons in Osiak village of Drosh town four years ago have said that the investigation officers of police posted in Drosh police station were punished by the department for their faulty investigation who were instantly replaced by other officers who put the case on right track.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Shaukatul Mulk, Shamsul Mulk, Mehmud Dastgir and Ziauddin rejected the allegations leveled by the investigation officers, now retired from service, including inspector Rahim Gul and sub-inspector Sardar Wali and said that they had nothing to do with the departmental inquiry which led to their punishment.
They said that they never mentioned the names of the police officers in their applications to the higher officers of police regarding faulty investigation of the triple murder case while the report of the special team of crimes branch sent from the central police office termed the initial investigation highly flawed and faulty and recommended stern action against the two officers.
They said that the retired police officers have also leveled false charges against their counsel Zafar Hayat advocate who exhibited his professional acumen and ability and proved the assassins guilty as a result of which the court handed down capital penalty to all the five accused.
