    Rich tributes paid to Shaheed Osama Ahmad Warriach, former DC Chitral

    CHITRAL: Rich tributes were paid by the speakers in a book launching ceremony here on Wednesday to Osama Ahmed Warraich, the former deputy commissioner of Chitral who lost his life in the PK 661 crash near Islamabad on December 2016.

    The book titled ‘Ae Mere Osama’ is the collection of memoirs described by Jabeen Cheema, the mother of the young civil servant who died in the prime of his youth but immortalized himself in the hearts of Chitralis by his elegant and people friendly administration as the head of district administration.

    Speaking on the occasion, the incumbent Chitral DC Khurshid Alam Mehsud said that the emotional attachment of the people of Chitral with Osama and holding him in highest of esteem even two years after his demise makes it explicit that how he had served in this remotest district of the country.

    “He has left a crucial and tough target for his successors in the office which hardly be attained by any one which he accomplished in a short span of about one year while in the book, each and every attributes of Osama have been fervently have been portrayed by his great mother who had to bear the great loss of a son of his own cailbre.

    I cannot claim to come at  par with Osama shaheed being his successor but I do pledge that the  initiatives undertaken by him for the benefit of the people of Chitral especially in the sector of education will be continued”, he said.

    The speakers including Chitral AC Sajid Nawaz, Fidaur Rahman, Javed Hayat, Qari Jamal Abdul Nasir and others said that book is the expression of tender feelings and sentiments of a mother soaked in grief which covered his whole life spanning over 31 years.
