His Highness Prince Rahim Aga Khan Departs for Islamabad after Completing Chitral and Gilgit Visit; Received by Governor and Chief Minister at Chitral Airport

Chitral : His Highness Prince Rahim Aga Khan departed for Islamabad from Chitral today after completing a week-long visit to Chitral and Gilgit. Upon his arrival in Chitral from Garam Chashma, he was received at Chitral Airport by Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi and Chief Minister Suhail Afridi. Following a brief meeting at the airport, His Highness left for Islamabad.
On the occasion, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and Chief Minister Suhail Afridi appreciated the role of the Aga Khan Foundation in the development of the region and expressed the desire to further expand cooperation in the future.
Speaking to the media at Chitral Airport while seeing off Prince Rahim Aga Khan after his visit to Garam Chashma, the provincial leadership stated that they held detailed discussions with His Highness regarding the vast opportunities available in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the sectors of mines and minerals, natural resources, and hospitality and tourism.
They said there are several sectors in which the Aga Khan Foundation could work jointly with the government.
They further stated that Prince Rahim Aga Khan had agreed in principle to the establishment of an Aga Khan University and hospital in Peshawar. Praising the development work carried out by the Aga Khan Foundation in Chitral, the Governor and Chief Minister paid tribute to the Foundation’s services for the development of underprivileged areas of the province.
They added that Prince Rahim Aga Khan assured them that a coordinated working relationship would be established with the provincial government, which would help eliminate backwardness in the region.
Among those present at the airport to receive His Highness, alongside provincial officials, were Commissioner Malakand Division, RPO Malakand Syed Fida Hassan, former MNA Shahzada Iftikharuddin, Deputy Commissioner Chitral Rao Hashim Azim, prominent businessman Anwar Aman, Presidents of the Ismaili Regional Councils for Lower and Upper Chitral Imtiaz Alam and Muhammad Zafar, Provincial Information Minister Shafi Jan, Deputy Speaker Suraya Bibi, MPA Lower Chitral Fateh-ul-Mulk Ali Nasir, former provincial minister Saleem Khan, and other dignitaries.
