Montessori Training for 100 ECLC Directresses concludes, organized by Foundation to Empower Students (FES)

CHITRAL: Foundation to Empower Students (FES) successfully concluded a 10-day intensive Montessori training for 100 Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC) directresses at the University of Chitral. The training was conducted under the Herzing Training and Skills Development Program, launched in collaboration with the University of Chitral as part of the educational initiatives supported by the Worldwide Education Fund (WEF), USA.
The primary objective of the training was to strengthen the capacity of young educated women from both Lower and Upper Chitral, enabling them to deliver quality Early Childhood Development with a strong emphasis on Montessori practices. The program focused on equipping Montessori Directresses with child-centered pedagogical approaches, prepared environment practices, and practical Montessori methodologies to ensure meaningful early learning experiences.
The closing ceremony was attended by distinguished members of civil society, representatives from government departments, and faculty members of the University of Chitral. The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Rifghat Ullah Khan, District Police Officer (DPO) Lower Chitral; Mr. Rao Hashim Azeem, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Lower Chitral; Mr. Zuhran Shah, Former General Manager AKESP Chitral; and Mr. Muqadas Khan, Deputy District Education Officer (Male), Lower Chitral.
Addressing the participants, the esteemed guests emphasized the critical importance of investing in Early Childhood Education to build strong societal foundations. They appreciated FES and the University of Chitral for their commitment and sincere efforts toward transforming the landscape of early childhood education in Chitral.
Mrs. Samina Hussain, Director Programs at FES, along with Mr. Alamgir Khan, Operations Manager, and Mr. Aftab Karim, Academic Manager, expressed their sincere gratitude to the honored guests for their presence and continued support. They extended special appreciation to Dr. Nadeem Ahmed, Director Administration, University of Chitral, for his continuous support.
During their remarks, they highlighted FES’s ongoing initiatives across Chitral and shared the organization’s long-term vision of establishing 1,200 Early Childhood Learning Centers throughout the region. This mission extends beyond delivering quality Montessori-based Early Childhood Development; it also advances women’s economic empowerment by enabling ECLC Directresses to earn a dignified and sustainable livelihood.
With the continued support of the Worldwide Education Fund, USA, FES reaffirmed its commitment to serving the people of Chitral through a broad range of initiatives, including Early Childhood Development programs, scholarships, language labs, training centers, and diploma programs in computer science and education.
The successful completion of this training marks another significant milestone in FES’s mission to enhance educational standards and empower communities across Chitral.
