An elderly man, sitting near the court roads almost every day shaking when he talks, is found today a friend of mine became curious enough and asked the old man what he was doing here every day. I tagged along and what he told us was both heartbreaking and tragic. The old man’s name is Mr. Siraj ud Din and is a resident of Darkhanan Deh Ayun.
A few years ago, the irrigation department, in an attempt to clean the rubble due to floods, had dumped all that rubble into this man’s fields. Fields that grow crops. The man has no children or anyone else that could take a stand for him so he decided to do that on his own. After four years and numerous trips to the Irrigation office, and the DC his efforts remain in vain. Every day he comes to seek justice and everyday justice is delayed. He is sent home every day tagged with ever growing pile of documents and excuses given by the departments. “Come after eid” one said to him after that “come after elections” he was told. The old man is sitting outside on the pavement hopeless and helpless. Will anyone come to his aid? If not aid then will the departments at least do their jobs? It requested To Whom It May Concern to please take due notice of this incident and help this man rest. There should be some compensation for the loss and inconvenience caused to Mr.Siraj ud Din.
Justice delayed is justice denied.
