9 die after avalanche hits house in Chitral
CHITRAL Jan 23 (APP): At least nine people died when an avalanche struck a house in the Domel area of Chitral.
According to the Chitral Deputy Commissioner’s Office, a snow avalanche hit a residential house in Domel, resulting in the deaths of nine people, while one child was injured.
Officials said that the deceased included four women and five men. The bodies of all the victims have been recovered.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi expressed profound grief and sorrow over the tragic incident and prayed for eternal peace of the victims.
Meanwhile, rescue operations are ongoing in Tirah Valley of Khyber district to relocate internally displaced persons (IDPs) who were stranded due to recent heavy snowfall.
